The CBN produces a number of good practice guides for those workign with bereaved children and young people, their families and other caregivers.



Guidelines for Supporting Parents
These Guidelines have been developed by CBN subscribers as part of a parnership project between CBN and Winston's Wish funded by the Parenting Fund.

Guidelines for Best Practice

These Guidelines cover the areas of safety, practice context, quality, accountability and equality. All CBN subscribers endorse these guidelines as a condition of their CBN membership. They were developed over a two-year period of consultation with practitioners, service providers and other interested parties throughout the UK, and were subsequently ratified by the CBN Consultant Panel in May 2001.

Guidelines for Good Practice in Participation

These guidelines discuss involving children and young people in planning and delivering childhood bereavement services. They were produced as part of the CBN's Video Talkshops project. The Guidelines define participation, discuss why it should be encouraged, makes practical suggestions about how to develop a culture of participation within your organisation and gives a range of useful resources. The Guidelines also give case studies of how CBN subscribers Jigsaw4u, St Christopher's Hospice Candle Project, Winston's Wish and Cruse have involved children and young people in their organisations.
