Young people join the 'Grief Matters for Children' campaign

6 May 2008

Picture of young people attending CBN parliamentary reception outside House of Commons20 young people supported by CBN subscribers attended a parliamentary reception hosted by Edward Davey MP in support of our 'Grief Matters for Children' campaign.

The young people met MPs and peers to talk about their experiences, explain how support had made a difference to them, and say why they thought it was important for other young people to have access to the same help.

One young person said they had enjoyed 'giving feedback to the Lords and MPs, and knowing that they're actually going to do something'. Parliamentarians at the reception were impressed by the young people's moving speeches and their willingness to lobby for support for others. The young people were pleased with how the event went, with comments including 'High fives to the MPs for turning up' and 'We're unbelievably good at coping when we get help.'
