Sally Stanley wins tickets for Concert for Diana

5 July 2007

Sally Stanley from Hampshire was the lucky winner of two tickets for last weekend’s Concert for Diana, offered by the Childhood Bereavement Network (CBN) as a prize for respondents completing an online survey about bereavement in childhood.

Organised by Princes William and Harry as a 46th birthday tribute to their mother, the concert featured an eclectic mix of her favourite musicians and theirs. Video clips and interviews throughout the concert reminded the audience of Diana’s varied and committed work for charities.

For Sally, it was particularly poignant to be there: she and her friend Victoria, who accompanied her to the concert, are founder members of Simon Says, a charity supporting bereaved children in Hampshire, which celebrates its fifth anniversary this year.

‘We’re really grateful to Sally and the hundreds of others who gave us their views on childhood bereavement, and were delighted to be able to offer the ticket draw as a thank- you.’ said Alison Penny, CBN’s Policy and Communications Coordinator. ‘We’ll be using the survey results to inform our ‘Grief Matters for Children’ campaign, funded by the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, which calls for support to be available to all bereaved children, wherever they live and however they’ve been bereaved.’
