The services in this Directory can be contacted for information, guidance and support by anyone caring for or working with a bereaved child or young person in the UK and, in most instances, by the bereaved child themselves. For example, if you are a bereaved father worried about your children, you can contact these services without being referred by your GP. If you are a teacher with a bereaved pupil in your class, you can contact the service too.

Services included in the Directory operate an 'open access' policy. They only restrict their activities by geography or by the age of the child or young person being referred. All the services included have subscribed to the Childhood Bereavement Network and endorsed the CBN Belief Statement and Guidelines for Best Practice. Please do note however that the CBN is not a regulatory body and cannot accept responsibility for the quality of care provided by any of its subscribers.
